Pumpkins, Spelunking, and Monsters!

We started our Halloween festivities early this year. Since last year, the craziness of the wedding left us with the last week in October to do things. We were anxious to get started....which meant jumping the gun on carving pumpkins. The first week in October we carved with our friends, and not gonna lie we had some sweet pumpkins!

But by the end of the week, this is how they looked...

Of course we had to throw them away fast because they were a real (funny) eyesore for our neighbors, but we ended up carving pumpkins later in the month with Scott and Carissa and their cute little baby girl! Those pumpkins lasted through Halloween perfectly :)
We also went to CORNBELLYS this year! We seriously had a blast.

Steve is so in his element here...

These videos are actually sort of embarrassing! Something about looking awkward on a plastic bull, and then falling....but for the sake of the blog! Ha!

With our tickets, we got to go "spelunking".  The attraction was a 12" by 8" wooden box sitting on a trailer, with a little tunnel entrance.  We thought it would be so easy and kind of lame, but we were in for a serious surprise!!! It was so hard! The tunnels got smaller and the angles got more ridiculous to maneuver around! We climbed up in holes and had to flip upside down in holes! It seriously never ended!! We were all sweating by the end of it.

I always forget how easily scared I am, we always get like this before haunted stuff!

On Halloween day we got to dress up for work! It was fun! Everyone loved Jonathan's costume, it kind of freaked them out at times too (he's a road). Can anyone guess who Ashley and I dressed up as??

I was Boo from Monsters Inc. and Ashley was Agnes from Despicable Me!! Don't they look the same?? That is the joke Ashley and I were going for :) After work there was a Halloween party to go to, and Steve needed a costume.  We spent a long time trying to figure out what Steve should be. He wanted a legit costume, but we didn't want to spend a ton of money either. But when you add an old gorilla suit, duct tape, face paint, and cardboard, you can get pretty creative! We figured he should be a monster! We went all out!

From this year and last year I'm seeing somewhat of a pattern. On Halloween we wait till the day of to find a costume, spend hours preparing it, and end up wearing it for 30 minutes. Steve ended up being the most decked out person at the party...but he was a good sport! He even got into character a couple times!

Its finally here! Took me a while (5 months actually) after I decided I wanted to blog, to actually make one and get it started. But I woke up this morning and decided it was time. Good thing I have just random spurts of spontaneous energy.  I swear that's how I get half the amount of stuff on my list done!  But I'm excited, and I just showed this blog to Steve, and he likes it too!

We also just had our FIRST anniversary!!!!! There were points durning the year, where it felt like it was still our first month, and other times where it easily felt a year had come and gone. We are excited to see what comes our way this next year, and many more after that!

This year we went to Canada to celebrate! Believe it or not, there was no snow when we went! Which is great because the fall season usually doesn't last very long into October.  We were very lucky because the colors were uh-mazing!! The leaves were absolutely breathtaking, and there was so much green too! Here are some pics of our adventures. Enjoy!

There was a mean troll named Steve who lived under the bridge....

.....and he was really scary! :)

Us at Red Rock Canyon.

Steve hiking down the canyon, isn't he just so cute.

Red Rock. Red shoes.

I love love love the Fall!!

We were searching for bears the whole ride up the canyon, but didn't find any except this little guy.....

We became friends real fast!

And of course we love the Ketchup Chips.

The cute little cabin we stayed in for one of the days.

It was so beautiful outside, and nice inside! With yummy breakfast for us too!
