Ashley and Trent Wedding Extravaganza: The 3+ Day Adventure

Ashley, my literal other half, got MARRIED! I love this blog, because I can look back to the happiest moments in my life, and all of these fond memories come flooding back to me. And this nearly one-month long trip to help Ashley with her wedding is something I will always cherish!

I have never seen her so, so happy and in love. The both of them just exude love and joy! That will make any siblings heart full of joy, to see the people they love so dearly to be happy! It was a magical/busy day and I am so glad they are still mushy in love months later!

So excited to have Trent join our family too! He has always stood out to me as an impressive guy, but not all for outward reasons. In the little time we have got to know him, you just know there is a true genuine man there. He is good and selfless and very attentive to other people! Apparently he can do like 1000 ab crunches, and he has an insanely contagious laugh!! Can't forget the nerd-like qualities the Juretich women seem to like in their men. He named his big grey truck Gandalf, and on the dashboard perfectly sits a Gandalf figurine (YOU SHALL NOT PASS! Get the joke?)  Thats is probably the most impressive thing about him by far. Haha he is just awesome.

Once again, we Juretich women had to leave our men to help with assembling the wedding. Those guys sacrifice :) We had a lot to do two weeks prior to the wedding, and it took all of us to band together! But first we had to ummm, get there. SO! Operation "Get us five women and five children to Utah via driving/caravanning in the quickest amount of time possible!" commenced. It was ambitious, but we can handle anything! (that's what we had to keep telling ourselves)

It was a 3+ day adventure, because for Brittany, Mom, Olivia, and kids they had a longer way to go. Mom drove with Olivia, Cayden, and Addie (they had gone back to SC with them for a couple weeks after the 4th of July! I love mixing things up! And I love the summer!) to Missisippi to meet up with Brittany and the rest of the kids, and from there continue to the drive to Dallas to pick up Haley, Graham and I. And from there, head our sorry little bums to Utah!! So these guys had already been traveling for 2 days before I even got started on this trip. Phew!!

The photo above is of the crew finally reaching Dallas, which is also proof that 11 people can in fact sleep comfortably in a one bedroom apartment!

We did take one day to play :) Theses guys had never been to Dallas before! And of course we had to designate a day to play in the pool! To avoid mutiny from the kids :)

For anyone wondering, dumpster diving is totally cool when you find pricey antique windows in there. This decorating girl was overjoyed!!!

You betcha' bottom we did this!

And were off!! (my day 1, her day 3) Still smiles!

Road trip Wendy's is a must.

THANK GOODNESS for cousins. They seriously kept him happy the whole time.

Whatever methods they used....

Our second night driving, we were so determined to get there late. We were only about 4 hours away and times were getting rough for everyone. We didn't plan on staying another night in a hotel so we just kept going...but we. were. pooped. We had to stop, but it was this small town where there weren't many choices for motels. We finally found his Inn that had one more vacant room with two queen beds and the option to bring in a couple more mattresses. We took it, and it wasn't the prettiest sight but we all squeezed in there!! It was TINY! haha! Graham slept with Addie and I, and it was a rougher night sleep for me since Graham slept better in his own bed...nursing all night saved us I think!

Addies such a doll.

The next morning we were so much more refreshed. It is amazing what sleep can do. The Inn lady was funny, because she was super super happy to have us stay at her Inn. I don't think a lot of unsuspicious family folk stay there and she obviously liked that there were kids around too. She brought her dog out and let the kids play with him, and it was cute! She also makes everyone breakfast, and it was surprisingly good! We really appreciated the cute little pioneer courtyard where the kids could play too! It was a good morning.

And well, with only 4 hours left! We decided to makes some fun stops on the way. MOAB. Yes we absolutely had to stop there, and the new Temple too!

We did some window shopping in Moab and some of us even bought T-shirts. I feel like every time I go there I need to buy a T-shirt. I just looooove that place!

Off to see them Temple.

This kid is growing UP! Razor scooters are also the best.

My family :)

Sweet Hudson!

My baby!

Addie girl!

Happy Nonnie!! She loves her grand babies! And happy Haley!

Just trying to get ONE good family picture with her kids (Cayden and Addie ditched the scene when Case spilled his bubble)

Wonderful break. The Temple brings perspective! Families are forever!

Okay....okay......GET US THERE AND OUT OF THIS CAR MODE! We be goin' crazy.

  1. The couple and their families look very happy and delighted. I have similar joyful spirits all around me too as we are preparing for my cousin’s wedding. The wedding date has been fixed for next week and the venue is at the spectacular event space Chicago. We all are excited for the ceremony and want the event to be as perfect as we can make it.
